This privacy policy applies to (i) individuals who are registered on our platform (Users), (ii) individuals who are not users (non-users) but (a) receive packages through our services, (b) packages are picked up from, (c) receive communications about our services through referrals from users, and (d) communicate with us using the contact information on our platforms.

How we collect information

We collect information from users in several ways: (1) directly from users themselves, (2) through the use of our services, and (3) from other sources.

  1. Information provided to us directly by Users on our platform;
  2. Personal account information: We gather your first and last name, phone number, email address, and password when you access the platform.
  3. Information related to transactions: We also collect data such as special instructions left by the user, images, item type, and the date and time the order was placed.
  4. Payment information: When processing payments on our platform, we collect your mobile money payment number.
  5. Survey responses: We conduct surveys to gather information such as gender, educational level, occupation, marital status, and interests, among other details.
  6. User-generated content: This includes data collected from calls made to Qargo customer support, as well as ratings and comments provided by users on the platform about couriers.

Information provided to us through use of our services;

  1. Location data: We gather the pickup and delivery locations for packages to be sent. Additionally, we may collect and store IP addresses. If you grant permission for our Services to access location services through your mobile operating system or browser, we may also collect and store the precise location of your device when our apps are running, whether in the foreground or background.
  2. Contact information data: We collect the phone numbers of non-users who are either receiving packages or from whom packages are being picked up. To enable quick access to recipient or pickup location contact details, we utilize the "access contact" button. It's crucial to understand that we do not retain this information. Our use of the "access contact" button is solely local to the user's device.
  3. Information gathered during communication: When utilizing our Services, filling electronic forms, interacting with Couriers, or reaching out to us via online chat, email, phone, or text, we automatically collect and store specific details about you and your engagement. This includes your name, contact information, order specifics, voluntarily provided data, the content and nature of your communication, the interaction's purpose, and our response to your inquiry or request.

  5. Device data: We gather information regarding the devices utilized to access our services, such as hardware models, device IP addresses or other unique identifiers, operating systems and versions, software, preferred languages, device motion data, and mobile network data.
  6. Referral information Users occasionally send invites to non-users to access our platform through referrals. We collect the recipient's phone number for this purpose.

How we use the information we collect

We use the information we collect for various purposes such as;

  1. Providing and Personalizing Services: To provide delivery services, personalize your experience, and customize the content we deliver to you.
  2. Communicating with You: To communicate with you about your orders, account updates, promotions, and other relevant information.

  4. Marketing and Advertising: To send you promotional materials, offers, and updates about our services and partners. You may opt-out of receiving marketing communications at any time.
  5. To enhance the safety and security of users: We collect and analyze data to identify and prevent potential risks or security threats to ensure that our users and platform are protected.
  6. For customer support: We may use the information you provide to assist you with inquiries, resolve issues, or address concerns you may have regarding our services.
  7. In connection with legal proceedings: We may disclose information as required by law, legal proceedings, or governmental requests, or to enforce our terms of service, protect our rights, or address security issues.

We may need to share specific details with other users, or upon users' request or consent, depending on the features and services we offer.

  1. Service Providers: We may share your information with third-party service providers who help us operate, maintain, and improve the App, such as payment processors, delivery partners, and analytics providers.

Qargo enables users to access or control the information we collect and how it is shared. We also allows users to request access to or copies of their data, make changes or updates to their accounts, request deletion of their accounts, or ask Qargo to restrict its processing of user data.

  1. Account information: You may update or modify your account information at any time by accessing your account settings in the App.
  2. Location information: You can control the collection of location information through your device settings or by adjusting the App's permissions
  3. Device permissions: Most mobile device platforms (iOS, Android, etc.) have set restrictions on certain types of device data that apps cannot access without the device owner’s permission. Each platform has its own methods for obtaining this permission. Users are encouraged to review the settings available on their devices or consult their service provider for more information.

Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the security of your information and prevent unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. Nevertheless, it is important to note that no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and as a result, we cannot provide an assurance of absolute security.

Children’s Privacy

The App is not intended for use by children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 18. If you believe that we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 18, please contact us immediately.
