This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) explains how Qargo (“we”, “our”, “us”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects the personal information of individuals who use our platform as customers (“you”, “your”).
By using Qargo’s app, website, or services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Policy. If you provide us with someone else’s personal data (e.g., recipient details for a delivery), you confirm that you have their consent to share it.

1. Information We Collect
We collect information about you from three sources: directly from you, through your use of our services, and from other sources.

(a) Information We Collect
  • Account details: name, phone number, email, password.
  • Payment details: mobile money or card number for payments.
  • Delivery details: names, addresses, and phone numbers of senders/recipients.
  • Loyalty program data: points earned, redeemed, and transaction history.
  • Customer service interactions: messages, calls, complaints, ratings, or feedback.
  • (b) Information collected through your use of Qargo
  • Location data:
  • Your location when placing or tracking an order.
  • Location sharing sent by you to a recipient to track a courier in real time.
  • “Request location” feature when you request the sender/recipient to provide their exact location.
  • Transaction data: orders placed, delivery frequency, payment amounts, promotions used.
  • Device data: device type, operating system, IP address, language settings, and identifiers.
  • Ad interaction data: how you interact with third-party ads displayed in-app (no personal data is sold to advertisers).
  • (c) Information from other sources
  • Referrals: phone numbers or contact details if you are invited to Qargo by another user.
  • Emergency contacts: if provided by a courier and linked to your delivery.

  • 2. How We Use Your Information
    We use your personal data for the following lawful purposes:
    1. Service delivery – to process orders, match you with couriers, track deliveries, and process payments.
    2. Loyalty program – to record, manage, and redeem your loyalty points.
    3. Location services – to provide accurate pickup/delivery, enable “share location” with recipients, and allow “request location” features.
    4. Communications – to update you about orders, account activity, promotions, and security notices.
    5. Marketing and ads – to send promotional offers from Qargo or display third-party ads inside the app (ads are selected by Qargo; no personal data is sold).
    6. Analytics and improvement – to analyze trends, fix technical issues, and improve app performance.
    7. Safety and security – to detect fraud, resolve disputes, and ensure safe delivery.
    8. Legal compliance – to comply with Ghanaian law, respond to lawful requests, or enforce our terms.
    3. How We Share Your Information
    We only share personal data in the following cases:
  • With couriers: limited data necessary for delivery (first name, pickup/drop-off details, phone number, shared live location if enabled).
  • With service providers: payment processors, hosting providers, analytics partners, or identity verification partners.
  • With advertisers: ad performance data (e.g., impressions, clicks), but not your personal identifiers unless you consent.
  • With authorities: if required by law, court order, or government request.
  • With your consent: where you explicitly authorize sharing.

  • We do not sell customer data to advertisers or third parties.
    4. Data Retention
    We retain your personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes stated:
  • Account and transaction data: retained while your account is active, and up to 6 years for regulatory/audit requirements.
  • Loyalty program data: kept for as long as your account remains active.
  • Location data: We collect your device’s location to ensure timely and accurate deliveries. Location data is kept for up to 90 days, unless longer retention is needed for legal or safety reasons. Your data is protected using standard security measures, and during delivery, you can see the courier’s approximate location in real time. Qargo does not use this information to monitor or control couriers—only to make sure your delivery goes smoothly.
  • 5. Cross-Border Data Transfers
    We may process or store data outside Ghana (e.g., cloud services). Where transfers occur, we ensure compliance with the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) and use providers with adequate safeguards.
    6. Your Rights
    As a user in Ghana, you have the right to:
  • Access the data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Delete your personal data, subject to legal and financial record requirements.
  • Restrict or object to certain types of processing.
  • Opt out of marketing at any time.

    7. Data Security
    We use commercially reasonable administrative, organizational, technical, and physical security measures to protect your Personal Information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, we cannot guarantee that your Personal Information is completely secure, as no Internet or mobile transmission is ever fully secure or error-free. You should exercise caution when deciding what information to share with us via the Qargo Platform, including email, SMS/text, chat, or other communication methods. We are not responsible for any circumvention of privacy settings or security measures on our Services or on third-party websites. Please understand that protecting your Personal Information is also your responsibility, and we encourage you to take steps to safeguard it. If you believe your Qargo account or any interaction with us may no longer be secure, please notify us immediately through the Qargo support channels.
    8. Children’s Privacy
    Qargo is not intended for children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a child has provided us with their data, contact us to request deletion.
    9. Changes to This Policy
    We may update this Policy from time to time to reflect legal, technical, or business changes. Updates will be posted in-app or on our website.
